The Almoner has one of the most important roles in the Lodge: looking after the welfare of the Brethren, their widows and their families. Traditionally it has run on a private notebook and a good memory. That works until the collar is passed on, and the new Almoner starts again from scratch. • Only Brethren with the Almoner permission can open the welfare records and reports

One screen, for the Almoner's eyes, that shows all open cases, the last twelve months of support given and the running totals: everything needed to give a confident report to the Lodge and to hand over cleanly to the next Almoner.
