Care for the Brethren, Without It Living in One Person's Head
The Almoner has one of the most important roles in the Lodge: looking after the welfare of the Brethren, their widows and their families. Traditionally it has run on a private notebook and a good memory. That works until the collar is passed on, and the new Almoner starts again from scratch. The Working Tools gives your Almoner a proper, confidential welfare system, so nobody is forgotten and the care carries on when the office changes hands.
A Welfare Tab on Every Member's Record
- Log welfare events (illnesses, bereavements and other concerns), each dated, with a status you can mark resolved or reopen if things change
- Record support and disbursements: log a hamper, some flowers or a hospital visit just as easily as a charitable payment, so the Lodge has a full picture of the care given
- A running welfare history for each Member, kept alongside their membership record rather than in a book that leaves with the outgoing Almoner
Confidential by Design
Welfare information is sensitive, and it is treated that way. A dedicated Almoner / Welfare permission controls who can see it:
- Give your Almoner their own secure login, with access to the member details and reports they need, and nothing they don't
- Welfare data is kept out of member exports and general searches, so private matters stay private
- Only Brethren with the Almoner permission can open the welfare records and reports
Family and Emergency Contacts, GDPR-Safe
- Hold a Member's partner, next of kin and emergency contacts in one place, exactly what you need when it matters most
- Record consent status, dated, so you are holding those details on the right side of UK GDPR
- Remove a contact completely when it is no longer needed, with nothing left lingering in the background
Never Miss a Key Date
A card on the right day means more than a dozen at the wrong time. Record wedding anniversaries and other key dates, and let the anniversary reports tell you who to reach out to and when, so widows and Brethren are remembered on the days that matter to them.
The Welfare Report
One screen, for the Almoner's eyes, that shows all open cases, the last twelve months of support given and the running totals: everything needed to give a confident report to the Lodge and to hand over cleanly to the next Almoner. It is access-controlled and secure, and like all your Lodge data it is backed up automatically.

Invite your Almoner as a delegate under your subscription and set the Almoner / Welfare permission. They see what they need, and the welfare records stay confidential.
