Firstly, a belated Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a restful festive period and are feeling refreshed for what’s shaping up to be a very exciting 2026. It’s been a busy couple of months behind the scenes at The Working Tools, and this diary is a bit of a bumper update.
As always, thank you to everyone who has provided feedback, spotted issues, or suggested improvements — it genuinely helps shape the direction of the system.
In the last update we introduced the ability to change date formats away from the UK standard. Since then, we identified a few display issues where dates were still defaulting back to DD-MM-YYYY in certain areas. These have now been resolved, and dates should consistently display in your chosen format throughout the system.
We’ve added a new Excluded Member status. This allows Lodges to correctly record and report on excluded members without losing historic data or affecting active membership figures.
A small but important fix: delegate invites were failing to send in some cases due to email addresses being treated as case-sensitive. This has now been corrected, and invites should send reliably regardless of email capitalisation.
This is one we’re particularly pleased with. Every graph within the Reports section now allows you to download the underlying data as a CSV file. This makes it much easier to carry out further analysis, create your own charts, or include figures in Provincial or committee reports.
Charity records can now be filtered by date range, making it easier to review specific periods or campaigns. You can also export these filtered results as either a CSV or a PDF, depending on how you need to use or share the data.
Our documentation has continued to be expanded and refined alongside these changes. If you’re unsure how something works, the documentation should always be your first port of call — it’s kept up to date as new features land.
To help with less tech-savvy delegates, Secretaries can now set passwords on their behalf. This should make onboarding delegates much smoother and remove a common stumbling block.
We previously introduced custom fields for member records, and we’ve now extended this further. You can search and filter members using these custom fields directly from the Members page, making them far more powerful and practical day-to-day.
We’ve added a brand new Bylaws section where Lodges can store the definitive copy of their bylaws. These can be edited, saved, and then shared either by email or as a professionally presented PDF — ensuring everyone is always working from the correct version.
Finally, we’ve introduced a new Formal Handover section under Tools. This allows outgoing Secretaries to formally notify us when a successor has been appointed. It ensures the handover process is handled cleanly, securely, and — most importantly — that no Lodge data is lost during the transition.
That’s a lot of ground covered, and there’s plenty more to come. We’re extremely excited about 2026, with a strong pipeline of updates planned — including developments aimed specifically at Provinces as well as individual Lodges.
As always, the best way to explore these changes is simply to log in and try them out. If you need more detail, the documentation should have you covered.
Thank you again for your continued support, and here’s to a productive and admin-light year ahead.
