Developer Diary #6 - Quality of Life Upgrade

Brethren,

We’re excited to bring you another packed update to The Working Tools, with plenty of quality-of-life improvements for both Secretaries and Treasurers. This round of development has been all about smoothing out workflows and giving you more control over how you manage your lodge administration.

Here’s what’s new:

• Document uploads fixed – smoother and more reliable file handling.

• Treasurer upgrades:

  • Create batches of invoices (send out a full year of annual dues in just a few clicks).

  • Create invoices at set amounts (great for dining) or annual dues (the system automatically detects their dues level).

  • Track which invoices have been sent (or not).

  • Send batches of invoices.

  • Invoice tables now sort correctly for easier navigation.

• One-click role planning – Automatically set planned role performances on events using your active role holders.

• New Unit Settings page – A new settings area to hold some of these changes and upcoming ones too. Recently added Email Identity has been moved here.

• Custom fields for members – Add up to 3 custom fields to tailor member records to your needs.

• Reworked Tags system:

  • Centralised tag management in Unit Settings.

  • Tag assignments now handled on Members and Contacts.

  • Easier than ever to apply tags - just toggle on or off, no page reloads!

  • Choose tag colours and sort order for clearer organisation.

• Dashboard calendar view – In addition to the text-based 90-day planner, you can now see events in a calendar format.

• Emailer improvements:

  • Add links to your emails.

  • Backend improvements allow us to broadcast targeted updates and fixes directly to relevant lodges.

• Website resource downloads – Anyone downloading resources now receives a follow-up email with their resource attached.

This is a big update with many smaller enhancements designed to make everyday admin quicker and more intuitive. And, as always, there’s plenty more in the pipeline!
